Marriage....

Was waiting for the lift in my bldg...one family from the same floor were also waiting for the lift...started chatting with them....since i leave home at 8.15am and reach home at 8.15pm, I hardly know anyone from the building / society...however have made efforts to get acquainted with at least  two of my neighbors.... idea being, in times of need / emergency, i should be able to contact someone.....I am lucky enough to have the "chairman" of the society to be my immediate neighbor.....as the lift stopped for us to get in, Mr Pandey (my neighbor) updated me with the latest happening in the society...he said, whether I am aware that in the afternoon a boy of 21yrs old from "I"wing committed suicide.......felt very sad.....was thinking what his parents must be undergoing.....have actually gone thru this phase...my aunt's both the sons died at the age of 45 & 48 respectively.....when I went home, felt a strong urge / need to get married.....this was the first time I strongly felt the need to get married......was thinking what if, the guy's wishes had remained unfulfilled, his soul may come searching for a place to stay and if he comes to know I am living alone......decides to stay! ! ! !..........oh no..thought is very scary... recently saw a movie "Sixth sense"..which had a similar theme.........

A crow on my window......

Very recently ....had noticed that everyday a crow sits on my bathroom window and makes a call very loudly as if he is trying to tell me something....not sure whether it is the same crow everyday or different crow....since this happens early morning (from 5.45am till 8.30am)..(.leave house at at 8.30)....i presumed that he must be hungry...(same happens with me! ! !as soon as i get i feel hungry)......hence have started providing breakfast to him...however they are very fussy with food items.....doesnt like food with white colour....if you give only rice, he wont eat..rice need to be accompanied by dal!!!!!!!....generally they like farsan, papaya, water melon, etc.....today, as usual was waiting for the crow to give a call....he didnt, thought he must have taken leave today....when i locked the door to leave and was waiting for the lift, he suddenly appeared at my window pane...since had locked the door, thought of skipping the breakfast for him.....went by lift to the ground floor...at the back of the mind, was feeling very guilty for not keeping the breakfast...had an inkling in mind that something bad is going to happen..since i didnt wanted to miss my bus, started walking towards the main gate...as soon as i reached the gate, realized something was amiss ! ! !....had worn my top wrongly.... came back home....saw the crow was still there.....first thing i did was to give breakfast to the crow ...then changed my top......can this be just a coincidence or it has to do something with the CROW.......what do you think. ? ? ?

Maharashtrian style Chinese......

For a change, went to 6D for lunch...had heard, Chinese spring dosa is good...Thought of having today for lunch...fortunately unfortunately they didn't had the said dish....since it was saturday, wanted to have chinese food...went for an alternative Chinese dish...Ordered Hakka noodles....was disappointed with the dish....no taste at all.....most shocking was the accompanying material with the noodles..felt something odd when i had a bite of manchurian.....even in the wildest imgaination, one wld fail to guess the vegetable made of manchurian....IT WAS FROM LADIES FINGER ! ! ..........BHENDI.......................UUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSS .......One can understand , in order to be competitive, one has to innovate their products...but this type of INNOVATION is a bit difficult to DIGEST!

Jogging....

What is the difference between running on treadmill, jogger's park and on Roads ? ? ?

Roads:  If you ran for 1 km...for coming back to your destination, you again end up running for 1 km...total 2 kms.....

Jogging parks: they generally are in circles....how many circles to finish is in your hands...

Treadmill: biggest disadvantage of treadmill: you run till the stamina is ON......so if you run for 1km it is 1 km ...unlike jogging on the roads.......

Moral of the story: if you really are serious jogger, HIT THE ROADS! ! !..........

My take on "Vinu, I am getting married....."

Recently read a book titled “Vinu, I am getting married” ….Bought this book on priority basis because, the author of this book happens to be a colleague (Vineet Mishra) and a book club member. Since the meeting was on Friday, had to finish it before the meet. Book appealed to me for two reasons: firstly it was very handy to carry. Secondly, liked the cover of the book…very traditional…

Book discusses about the college life, days spent at the hostel, love, friendship, etc. The novel takes the readers back to their college days, churning the memories with vivid details of friendship.

This is a story about a guy named Vineet and his journey / adventure during the college days. During the course of engineering, Mallika his junior needs some help for assignment. Vineet agrees to help her out. After few meets, they become good friends… suddenly one fine day, Mallika send an invitation of her engagement. He meets her fiancĂ©e and feels he is not THE RIGHT GUY for her….whenever he sees the guy (Arjun) with her, he feels jealous, but does not realize the reason for jealousy…one of his friend Saurabh steps in, and tells Mallika to send the wedding card. When Vineet sees the card, he realizes the reason for jealousy..he was not aware that he himself was in love with her ….finally he manages to marry the girl whom he loves with some adventure BUT NOT WITHOUT the help from his friends……

Generally, books are of two types: some try to convey a message while others are light reading…This book falls into the latter category…

As they say, you like a book because you are able to identify with the characters or you have been through with the similar situation (s)….

I liked two things in the book…”the mind” which takes the form of "angel & devil", the devil sits on one shoulder and the angel on the other shoulder; and secondly the lizard episode…..I myself am very scared of lizard even if it is a BABY lizard….leave aside the grown up ones…..could imagine what would have happened to the guy who was lying on the table unconscious and someone shouts “there is lizard on the table” ! ! ! he hears that and starts running…..he was supposed to be lying unconscious but after hearing lizard he starts running…For me it would have been the other way round…after hearing that there is a lizard I would have fainted!!!!!!!...similar incidence happened at my place 2 days back….was staying overnight at my uncle’s place. when I came home, I tried to open the safety door (there are 2 doors, safety and main) cautiously since at times one can find a lizard inside the safety door…Since there was no lizard I very confidently opened the main door.. As soon as I opened the door, the lizard fell down. She was hiding behind the main door…didn’t know who was more shocked, I to find the lizard or the lizard herself to find the owner coming soooooo soon. The adventure of shooing away took almost an hour…..in the meantime, my niece (12yrs old) called up. She requested me not to shoo away the lizard, since it was raining outside, she said the lizard might get WET!!!!!!!!!

Overall liked the book. Really we miss the college days. Having samosas with chai at the tapri…sitting at the back so that you can read the books, make fun of the professor, to avoid answering questions asked by the professor, bunking the classes to watch cricket match or a movie, etc etc…Such type of books helps you to reminiscences those days!!!!!!!!!...

However felt that vocabulary was missing a bit….

Is being single a curse or boon....

Whenever you meet married friends, one always gets to hear as to how am I very lucky, fortunate for not being married!!! Reasons: no hassles of getting up early for preparing "dabbas" of kids/husband....taking studies....bearing the tantrums of kids/husband....list goes on and on......will they ever realise what stress we go under for being single...addressing to the people who wish to get married but are not yet:......."grass is greener on the other side" is so true & apt......if you think rationally, then yes it is both a boon as well as a curse....Curse: when u attend parties / weddings/get-together's ..you will find yourself alone in the ocean of people.......people have the habit of being inquisitive as to why /how we remained single.....whether there are/were failed relationships, affairs,...feel awkward to attend the weddings esp of younger cousins....people tend to add adjectives which the single person would be far away from those traits......in short, we find ourselves the victim of other people's comment who themselves may not be successful in their relationships....men take you for granted....they think we are always available to them for entertainment......if you happen to be close with male friends, females comment sarcastically on our single status......it is so sad that a women fails to understand a women..how do you expect MEN to understand !!!!!!!.....no one to pay the bills for the purchases made....most of all you feel lonely.....there is no one to share your experiences (good/bad).....last but not least your own family, relatives look down on you for being single....it is very very sad state of affairs...no female would wish to remain single by choice unless you have your own set of priorities or have decided not to get married........
Boon: free to do anything...no time bound activities....you are on your own to take the decisions......you tend to become independent, economically, financially  as well as emotionally, have time to devote to social activities / hobbies....can be advantageous if it depends on achievement of meaningful life goals and quality of the relationships you create.....

Cute little kid in the bus...

Only special thing about Rakshabandhan....is EARNING day for all the SISTERS!!!!!!!.....oh God, why doesnt it comes every month.....it wld have helped us in avoiding the hardships of going to office.....nevertheless, had to miss my regular bus...boarded AC 525 from Dindoshi Bus depot. Thought better to board the bus from starting point becos of the festive day.....however luck wld have had it, bus was almost empty....Since i was not carrying anything to read, i was betting for some adventure on the bus for entertainment....for a moment i thought, journey wld be boring since the bus was empty. however this proved wrong when a lady with a small kid (3-4yrs) old got in the bus...they managed to get the first seat, left hand side of the driver...believe me, the KID was continuously talking till Airoli....oh what an entertainment it was...one thought entered my mind...mother has the ultimate patience than any other human being....KID was asking very innocent Qs, singing poems with actions, and conversing with the conductor....NON STOP....was thinking, how can they have so much of ENERGY!!!!!!!IT WAS REALLY VERY ENTERTAINING....WORTH THE TRAVEL from home to office...

Chetan Bhagat's fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, etc. mistake.....

was reading an article "Don't worry, be happy" (TOI, 16/7) by Chetan Bhagat on how women are stressed in today's world....He has given five suggestions to reduce their stress levels which are all debatable....
1. Don't ever think you are without power. give it back to that mother-in-law.... why ????first, not all mother-in-law's are as they are projected.....secondly, why cant MEN control their MOM's!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. If you are doing a good job at work and your boss doesn't value you - tell him that, or quit....RIDICULOUS...
first of all, if you are good, nobody is going to stop you from getting the credit....secondly, he has assumed that all bosses are MEN, it can be women also!!!!!!!!!
3. Educate yourself, learn skills, network...figure out ways to be economically independent. so next time your husband tells you that you are not a good wife, mother or daughter-in-law, you can tell him to take a hike..
IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO SAY THIS TO YOUR HUSBAND????WHAT ABT THEIR EGO??WILL THEY BE ABLE TO TAKE IT FROM WIFE???
4. Donot ever feel stressed about having a dual responsibility of family and work.It is difficult but not impossible.
YOU ARE RIGHT MR, BHAGAT, IT IS DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE...NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS IMPOSSIBLE...WOMEN HAVE CONQUERED MOON,,,,but why it should be the responsibility of ONLY WOMEN to look after family???...why not the husbands equally share the responsibility.....that would be LESS STRESSFUL FOR HER!!!!!
5. Don't get competitive with other women....survival of the fittest is the key in today's world MR. BHAGAT!!

Instead of wasting time in writing if only he could have helped his wife in managing the household activities, his wife would have been more RELAXED.......

Mumbai's Bloody Wednesday 13/7

Felt very sad when I heard the news.....how can people be so fanatics.......how does it matter whether they are from different countries / different religions....after all they are also human beings. they also have near and dear ones.......was watching the reactions from the people who lost their kins and from witnesses......one of the person had lost his brother....he said, people say we know how you feel....but this is not true...we dont feel the intensity of grief unless we lose our own relative....which is very true....

One eye witness said, we are spending crores of money on KASAB, but we dont have 10 ambulances to take the injured people to hospital......Can we do something????

Media hype: Heard the media compared Mumbai with Taliban / Afghanistan....this is too bad...becos MUMBAI is 100 times better than the TALIBAN / AFGHANISTAN..this will give wrong picture to the outside world...They will stop investments.....which will not be economical for the financial centre MUMBAI...

Secondly, heard them saying MUMBAI spirit  is too high..people started going to work next day..what do they expect????do the people of MUMBAI have any OPTION???? can they sit at home and watch the government / aam jantaa doing nothing to keep MUMBAI safe from the terror attacks....

one of my Dumbest moment.......

my niece was looking at the games in my cell phone..she came across Ant smasher. It seems she had played this game earlier also....i don't know whether she knew that I am very bad at games or it was her intuition that led to think I may not know the game...she started playing ant smasher.......while playing just remarked that we should avoid killing the bees.....as usual like a dumb Auntie, asked her why???(becos till then, i was killing ants as well as the bees, and the game used to stop sans knowing why??)....she looked at me, and said, auntie, this is ANT SMASHER game ...you need to kill only ANTS ! ! ooooooppppsss..FELT SOOOOOOOOOOOOO DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what’s the one word that describes you

Was reading an article in TOI on ‘what’s the one word that describes you’ ???. Initially, I thought it was easy to describe oneself in one word….when I actually started to narrow it down to one word, couldn’t do so. Believe me guys, it is really difficult to describe oneself in one word!!!!!!!!!!........just to keep your grey cells running, can you pl. describe yourself in ONE WORD and mail it to me……don’t want to be the only person in the boat of who couldn’t do it …….T h A n K  y O u ………

After much thinking, I described myself in one word as “experimenting”…….I like to experiment myself in every situation of my life……

Any Takers ? ? ?

Pyramid Power

This geometric form in which ancient Egyptians buried their pharaohs has engaged the interest of many over the years. Many properties, including the powers of preservation and healing were ascribed to pyramids. Soon pyramids of various sizes were built around the world. The credit for making meditation inside a pyramid a mass movement goes to the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement of India. The Maitreya Pyramid (Bangalore) measures 160 ft x 160 ft at the base. At 1/3rd height is the King’s chamber, which receives maximum energy inside the pyramid. A spiral staircase leads to the chamber, where at least 40 people can meditate at a time.

A New MovementSubhash Patri started the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement of India in 1990. The first meditation pyramid was built in 1991 in Kurnool. Currently, there are more that 20,000 meditation pyramids in India and abroad associated with the pyramid movement. Nearly 75 per cent of these are in Andhra Pradesh, while a few are in the US, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE and Fiji. Patriji tours 25 days a month propagating the merits of meditation. “I am not your guru. Breath is our guru,” says Patriji.  Mindful watching of the breath is all it takes to initiate the flowering of the Buddha within. “Meditation can be done by anyone, anywhere. Pyramids act as a catalyst only,” says Prasad Prayaga, programme director, Pyramid Valley.

Watch Your Breath
Meditation happens when you watch your breath consciously. Watching your breath meditating under a pyramid is considered to be more powerful and conducive, especially for beginners. To get maximum benefits, the pyramid should be constructed on the principles of the Giza Pyramid, which is oriented in the North-South direction, having the golden angle of inclination at 51 51 on all sides. If you dont find a pyramid in your vicinity to meditate, you neednt despair. You can get a smaller version done with all the correct angles and proportions and then use it as a cap while meditating. The pyramid caps seem to be yielding good results. Those who’ve experimented with pyramid meditation have experienced altered states of consciousness. Apart from properties of preservation and healing, out-of-body experiences are also discussed in this context.Vegetarianism is one of the guiding principles of pyramid meditation. Patriji says vegetarianism is about ahimsa. And you can’t keep spirituality and non-violence apart. “Eat healthy, vegetarian food and that too in moderation,”

Enjoy Life Mindfully
“Life is for enjoyment. Only ignorance leads to suffering,” says Patriji. “Have your rasagullas, jalebis, watch movies, plays and cricket matches. We don’t want any human being to suffer. Avoid causing harm to animals and other living beings.” Pyramid masters lead normal lives of householders and take care of their fellow beings as much as possible. The focus is clearly on two things — non-violence and meditation. Prasad Prayaga says: “There is no need to chant mantras or to pray to a deity or guru. Just observing the breath is enough.”Pyramid Valley International was recently voted as one of the seven wonders of Bangalore in a survey conducted by the Bangalore Mirror.

In its effort to reach out to a spiritually hungry world, Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement of India has started work on another bigger pyramid, this time in Hyderabad. When it is completed next year, the meditation pyramid that measures 180 feet x 180 feet at its base will be the biggest of its kind and will have a seating capacity of 6,000. With his avowed intention to unite and spiritualise the whole world by next year with Oneness Meditation, this New Age meditation technique and its pyramid masters hope to usher in a new era of peace.

UID Submission Form

Any initiative taken by the Govt gives a goose in my stomach.... immediately 2 things strike my mind: 1. long queue .2. Leave from office.......was coming from market...accidently happened to meet a neighbour of mine when i was waiting for the lift..asked him the reason for the long queue outside Society's office. He said they are distributing UID forms.. recollected cousin sister telling me that her neighbours were standing in the queue from 6am....Oh no...have to sacrifice sleep and invite tension......whether i will be able to submit the form....finally went straight to the society's office and managed to get the form.....manager said, it wont be done today you will need to come on monday..this process will be from monday - saturday from 10.30 to 5.30pm....told him office doesnt have sat off.....responded back saying office is imp or UID.....was going to tell him MONEY, boss PAISA......bt then thought, I have official reason to reach office late......so why not???.....Got up early, went to office @ 9.45am.....was relieved to see I was the first one!!!!!!!!.was comforting myself that I was the only one who had to go to office after the submission!!!. had to kill time till 10.30...thanks to GOOGLE...they gave ANGRY BIRDS FREE.....cld finish 2 levels...after some time people started coming all decked up...ready to go straight to the office from there............in order to get this work done today, i completely forgot that they will be taking my snap for the ID......in a bid to finish this process I went down sans MAKE-UP!!!!!!!.....when i actually sat in front of the camera, realised i shd have atleast put some powder!!!!!!!!!snap looked liked a WANTED PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!.....anyway, not regretting, IMPORTANT  was to get the thing done TODAY and that too before 11am....WHICH WAS ACHIEVED!!!!!!!!!!

SSC RESULTS

was thinking whether SSC results really matter to the parents / friends???My niece secured 91% in SSC board exams. Her mother seemed to be more relieved than her daughter....what difference wld it have made to her if she had secured 60%, 70%, etc..after giving  much thought, concluded that this is actually related to peer pressure....more than she getting a good college, it was the status which was bothering her.......what wld be her position amongst her friends whose kids also had appeared for the exams.....for that matter, even her relatives!!!!who hardly ever guided HER during the year, but when they came to know she secured above 90% everyone wanted to be related with her!!!!!!!!how can they (RELATIVES / FRIENDS) be so selfish!!!!!!!!!

bus on the chase

boarded 461 bus from Kandivali (e) highway.....at the 4th stop to kids (12-13yrs old) got into the bus..self was sitting behind the driver's seat.....find this seat very convenient, firstly you get see clear view ahead and secondly one can hear driver's conversation with the commuters!!!!!!......these 2 kids came in the front and stood near the driver....they were busy looking at the bus ahead of our bus...guessed they must have missed that bus and got into our bus...guess was confirmed within next few seconds....one of them asked the driver whether this bus goes to mankhurd...driver said NO....advised them to take the 524 bus which was ahead of us...one of them said , they cldnt get into the bus since it was too crowded....our driver turned out to be VERY VERY SMART!!!!!!instead of pitying them, he succeeded in overtaking the bus....after few yards ahead the bus stopped at the signal....driver told the kids to get down and catch the bus which was behind us at the signal.....boys were delighted to take the same bus which they had missed....was overwhelmed with the driver's spirit of getting the kids overboard on 524 bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!it was fun watching him overtaking the 524 bus!!!!!!!LONG LIVE THE DIRIVER'S SPIRIT!!!!!!

Do you know what she said ??????she said, if we take the water from the pond, the water will get over and the fishes will DIE!!!!!!!!!first reaction of her father's was to THROW THE WATER HE HAD IN HIS BOTTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SLEEP............

After years of research, Scientists have finally discovered how much sleep the average person needs -

the answer is -

5 more minutes :)

Priority....

Have realised that every person has his/her priorities set....People have time for the DEAD ones but they dont find time to meet when they are ALIVE.......have generally found that, people give excuses when they dont want to meet you / when you are NOT on their priority list...but the same person finds time to attend the FUNERALS ! ! I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THIS.......why not visit them when they NEED YOU / when they are ALIVE????why visit them when they ARE NO LONGER IN THIS WORLD........

Comments , pl.....

Is 'THE ONE' real OR REEL ! !

Saw two movies today....The One & It's Complicated (Alec Baldwin & Merryl Streep).....Liked both the movies........Was wondering whether one really find the partner who is THE ONE......or does it happen only in the Movie ? ?.....As far as I know, THE ONE FOR YOU is found in all EXCEPT your life partner..........

Any Comments ? ? ?

The second movie was on Divorced couple.....They meet at their son's graduation ceremony....once again try to get together,,,,but in the end, they part......does divorce person can/does FORGET all the memories of their partner.....or some part of theirs really feel for him/her?????even after getting DIVORCE ! ! !
