A crow on my window......

Very recently ....had noticed that everyday a crow sits on my bathroom window and makes a call very loudly as if he is trying to tell me something....not sure whether it is the same crow everyday or different crow....since this happens early morning (from 5.45am till 8.30am)..(.leave house at at 8.30)....i presumed that he must be hungry...(same happens with me! ! !as soon as i get i feel hungry)......hence have started providing breakfast to him...however they are very fussy with food items.....doesnt like food with white colour....if you give only rice, he wont eat..rice need to be accompanied by dal!!!!!!!....generally they like farsan, papaya, water melon, etc.....today, as usual was waiting for the crow to give a call....he didnt, thought he must have taken leave today....when i locked the door to leave and was waiting for the lift, he suddenly appeared at my window pane...since had locked the door, thought of skipping the breakfast for him.....went by lift to the ground floor...at the back of the mind, was feeling very guilty for not keeping the breakfast...had an inkling in mind that something bad is going to happen..since i didnt wanted to miss my bus, started walking towards the main gate...as soon as i reached the gate, realized something was amiss ! ! !....had worn my top wrongly.... came back home....saw the crow was still there.....first thing i did was to give breakfast to the crow ...then changed my top......can this be just a coincidence or it has to do something with the CROW.......what do you think. ? ? ?

Maharashtrian style Chinese......

Jogging....

What is the difference between running on treadmill, jogger's park and on Roads ? ? ?

Roads:  If you ran for 1 km...for coming back to your destination, you again end up running for 1 km...total 2 kms.....

Jogging parks: they generally are in circles....how many circles to finish is in your hands...

Treadmill: biggest disadvantage of treadmill: you run till the stamina is ON......so if you run for 1km it is 1 km ...unlike jogging on the roads.......

Moral of the story: if you really are serious jogger, HIT THE ROADS! ! !..........

My take on "Vinu, I am getting married....."

Recently read a book titled “Vinu, I am getting married” ….Bought this book on priority basis because, the author of this book happens to be a colleague (Vineet Mishra) and a book club member. Since the meeting was on Friday, had to finish it before the meet. Book appealed to me for two reasons: firstly it was very handy to carry. Secondly, liked the cover of the book…very traditional…

Book discusses about the college life, days spent at the hostel, love, friendship, etc. The novel takes the readers back to their college days, churning the memories with vivid details of friendship.

This is a story about a guy named Vineet and his journey / adventure during the college days. During the course of engineering, Mallika his junior needs some help for assignment. Vineet agrees to help her out. After few meets, they become good friends… suddenly one fine day, Mallika send an invitation of her engagement. He meets her fiancĂ©e and feels he is not THE RIGHT GUY for her….whenever he sees the guy (Arjun) with her, he feels jealous, but does not realize the reason for jealousy…one of his friend Saurabh steps in, and tells Mallika to send the wedding card. When Vineet sees the card, he realizes the reason for jealousy..he was not aware that he himself was in love with her ….finally he manages to marry the girl whom he loves with some adventure BUT NOT WITHOUT the help from his friends……

Generally, books are of two types: some try to convey a message while others are light reading…This book falls into the latter category…

As they say, you like a book because you are able to identify with the characters or you have been through with the similar situation (s)….

I liked two things in the book…”the mind” which takes the form of "angel & devil", the devil sits on one shoulder and the angel on the other shoulder; and secondly the lizard episode…..I myself am very scared of lizard even if it is a BABY lizard….leave aside the grown up ones…..could imagine what would have happened to the guy who was lying on the table unconscious and someone shouts “there is lizard on the table” ! ! ! he hears that and starts running…..he was supposed to be lying unconscious but after hearing lizard he starts running…For me it would have been the other way round…after hearing that there is a lizard I would have fainted!!!!!!!...similar incidence happened at my place 2 days back….was staying overnight at my uncle’s place. when I came home, I tried to open the safety door (there are 2 doors, safety and main) cautiously since at times one can find a lizard inside the safety door…Since there was no lizard I very confidently opened the main door.. As soon as I opened the door, the lizard fell down. She was hiding behind the main door…didn’t know who was more shocked, I to find the lizard or the lizard herself to find the owner coming soooooo soon. The adventure of shooing away took almost an hour…..in the meantime, my niece (12yrs old) called up. She requested me not to shoo away the lizard, since it was raining outside, she said the lizard might get WET!!!!!!!!!

Overall liked the book. Really we miss the college days. Having samosas with chai at the tapri…sitting at the back so that you can read the books, make fun of the professor, to avoid answering questions asked by the professor, bunking the classes to watch cricket match or a movie, etc etc…Such type of books helps you to reminiscences those days!!!!!!!!!...

However felt that vocabulary was missing a bit….

Is being single a curse or boon....

Whenever you meet married friends, one always gets to hear as to how am I very lucky, fortunate for not being married!!! Reasons: no hassles of getting up early for preparing "dabbas" of kids/husband....taking studies....bearing the tantrums of kids/husband....list goes on and on......will they ever realise what stress we go under for being single...addressing to the people who wish to get married but are not yet:......."grass is greener on the other side" is so true & apt......if you think rationally, then yes it is both a boon as well as a curse....Curse: when u attend parties / weddings/get-together's ..you will find yourself alone in the ocean of people.......people have the habit of being inquisitive as to why /how we remained single.....whether there are/were failed relationships, affairs,...feel awkward to attend the weddings esp of younger cousins....people tend to add adjectives which the single person would be far away from those traits......in short, we find ourselves the victim of other people's comment who themselves may not be successful in their relationships....men take you for granted....they think we are always available to them for entertainment......if you happen to be close with male friends, females comment sarcastically on our single status......it is so sad that a women fails to understand a women..how do you expect MEN to understand !!!!!!!.....no one to pay the bills for the purchases made....most of all you feel lonely.....there is no one to share your experiences (good/bad).....last but not least your own family, relatives look down on you for being single....it is very very sad state of affairs...no female would wish to remain single by choice unless you have your own set of priorities or have decided not to get married........
Boon: free to do anything...no time bound activities....you are on your own to take the decisions......you tend to become independent, economically, financially  as well as emotionally, have time to devote to social activities / hobbies....can be advantageous if it depends on achievement of meaningful life goals and quality of the relationships you create.....
